My name is Tom Chambers.
I was born and raised in the Bronx and moved to Long Island many years ago where I currently reside. I am a widower and the father of 4 beautiful children and the proud grandfather of 2.
I love everything about life and embrace the circle of life. It’s all good. One cannot know unconditional love and compassion unless he has experienced the pain and hurt that allows one to appreciate its opposite. It’s all the same, the storm and the stillness, the thorns of a rose bush and the beauty of its flower, the sun the darkness, a child’s cry, and his laughter. The song of a bird, the cry of mourning, it’s all the same, the circle of life.
I am a Reconnective Healing Practitioner. I have been drawn to healing work and spirituality for as long as I can remember. As a young child, I was blessed to grow up in a family where clairvoyance and gifts of prophesy were quite common. I often think that I survived my youth in part, because of the many calls I received from Aunt Rose alerting me to a danger I was about to face. My first healing occurred in 1985 when a series of synchronistic events placed me at my home at the precise moment when a young neighborhood child was struck by an automobile right outside my door. I ran to her and as she lay there I placed my cheek against her cheek and felt an incredible surge of energy flow from my root chakra up through me and into this precious child.
After this experience, I began to sense things. I would sometimes receive prophetic images and visions that would later on be validated. Gifts of empathy began to rise up and I sometimes would feel the pain of others even as they approached me from behind without yet seeing their face. Then a period of quiet time, until a few years ago when I was walking along the ocean heading east during first light. There was a great feeling of anticipation as I waited for the sun to rise. Being a surfer, I have seen so many sunrises and each one is so incredibly unique but this day was different, I felt something special. As I continued to walk I focused on my breath and the sounds of the seagulls as they searched the waters for their morning nourishment. I began to reflect on my spiritual journey and the yearning I had to help others and wondered what the universe had in store for me. I began to pray as I waited for the sun to rise and I asked for wisdom and understanding as to how I may be of service to others. This prayer led me to a series of synchronistic events each more powerful than the previous one all leading me to becoming a Reconnective healing practitioner. I feel so extraordinarily blessed and humbled for the gift I received and the ability to use this gift to heal others.

I do hold class on Monday nights from 7-930 and the fee is 25. I do have a waiting list but each week 1-3 students seem to call out so I usually have room and in fact do have room next Monday April 7.
